Simran. This one word is a powerful tool that continues to shape my life and my profession. I have learned that in everything I do, I must start with this word. Simran has several meanings but each encompass the practice of inner reflection and staying connected to the truest parts of the self; carrying these outwardly in daily practice with others.
I wholeheartedly believe in using multi-faceted approaches to foster wellness in others; being a conduit for them to realize and live to the potential that every human being has within them.
My educational background is a Masters Degree in Art Therapy and I aim to use its approaches and theories in my work. I hold a dual-credential in Mental Health & Substance Use Disorders, am trained in Trauma Informed Care, am EMDR Certified and have a Level 1 Certification in Technology Abuse and Addiction in Youth.
My passion for working with others has led to my work within the clinical setting, educational settings and in area communities. I believe in advocacy, compassion and sustainable change.
I currently serve on the Fox Valley Technical College SUD panel, the Ripon Area School District Odyssey Academy of Virtual Learning governance board, am part of the philanthropic Oshkosh-Area GEMS group, an volunteer my time serving other community agencies.
